Only after the pattern is created and automatically inspected from both sides, is the flat lattice folded and fused to create a cylindrical stent
This unique two dimensional pattern formation process allows us to achieve unparalleled precision. Additionally, it allows us to conduct quality control processes on both sides of the flat panel using Automated Visual Inspection (AVI) – a technology adopted from the micro-electronics industry.
The two dimensional nature of our pattern formation process also facilitates the use of two different cutout technologies – chemical etching and water jet laser cutting. The ability to choose between these alternative technologies allows us to match each stent material with the optimal technology. Additionally, these cutting technologies involve minimum heat trauma, resulting in higher metal properties.
